When was your piano last tuned or serviced?
A piano should be tuned at least once every 12 months regardless of the amount of use it has.
If you‘re a music teacher or your piano is being used by piano students practicing a few hours a day you’ll probably find your piano may need to be tuned once every 6 months. 
If you have recently moved the piano or the piano is located in a part of the house which is effected by weather changes it should be tuned each time it is moved or in accordance with the season changes (Summer/Winter - Autumn/Spring).

One of the major concerns of piano owners is how to keep it in tune at all times. Remember that a piano is a stringed instrument, just like the guitar, it goes out of tune.
There are some primary reasons why we need to tune a piano. Remember that the piano is made up of wood.. When humidity rises, the wood swells which affects the quality of sound made by the piano. This is why the piano needs constant tuning and attention. 
Piano tuning is not as expensive as you think. The longer your piano exceeds the manufacturer’s recommended tuning requires, the more expensive it will be for you to have your piano tuned. If you want to save more money, after buying your piano have it tuned regularly as required by the manufacturer.

A Piano Tuner Tunes Pianos and carries out any minor work on the piano while tuning on location at the clients home, studio or venue. In some cases is also able to do repairs to the piano action and keys at the clients home.

You really have to know that piano tuning is part of your responsibility as a piano owner. It should be done at least once a year (twice a year is preferred). There are approximately 220-230 strings in every piano. Each string is individually stretched, tightened or pulled. It has to have at least 150 to 200 pounds of pressure in each stretch depending on its gauge of length and thickness. Piano manufacturers would recommend tuning two to four times a year for a teachers piano or a students piano. But if you are not using your piano regularly, once or twice a year is enough.

Concert pitch (A440 - A above middle C vibrating at 440 times per second) has been universally accepted as the pitch to which all instruments should be tuned. It ensures that when instruments play together, they will all be in tune with one another. Pianos are designed and built to sound their best when tuned to A440.
